Love is in the air! Valentine's Day is just around the corner and we know that many people want to make their sweetheart feel extra special. But, this holiday can really bring stress to a wallet. Here is a tried and true list of FIVE tips to make it a memorable V-Day for your true Valentine, without breaking the bank...
1. GIFT THOUGHTFULLY, NOT EXPENSIVELY. The reality, most people love receiving a gift that is filled with THOUGHT and CARE - so don't shy away from the homemade card, or personalized coupon book filled with FREEBIES that you know your partner will love.
2. EVERYONE LOVES COUPONS. Before you click to buy, check for coupon codes or promo codes. Most retailers are offering something these days...don't pay full price!
3. PICNIC BASKET OVER FINE DINING. Many restaurants mark up their menu with items disguised as "Valentine's Specials". Skip the pricey places and pack a romantic basket to have a picnic in your favorite spot, overlooking your favorite place.
4. GROCERY FLOWERS OVER FLORIST. She won't know the difference. Hit the local grocery store for a beautiful bouquet and avoid the pricey markups so many florists put out around Valentine's Day.
5. GIVE THE GIFT OF AN EXPERIENCE OVER A THING. It's popular now to find inexpensive "experiences" to give as a gift instead of busting your budget with expensive jewelry or handbags. Buy a pass to a local dance class, or cooking class, or go for a scenic drive.
Showing your Valentine that you love them doesn't have to take you off budget. Show your love by staying financially fit! ♥
