Decatur, Illinois, October 23rd, 2026 – LLCU announced Friday that the new LLCU Administrative Office and Branch is now open. Construction took just a little over 12 months for the nearly $8 million state-of-the-art facility to be finished. The new facility is located at 3035 E. Mound Rd. in Decatur, IL and was previously the site of a Veterans Affairs Medical Clinic but had been vacant since 2018. The building renovation represents a major investment in the credit union’s growth strategy and to LLCU’s continued commitment to community reinvestment. Additionally, the new facility will greatly enhance the organization’s infrastructure and operational efficiency.

The new facility sits directly across the street from the site of what was LLCU’s Mound Road branch since 2001. Now, with the new branch opened, the previous Mound branch located at 3130 E. Mound Road is permanently closed.

The site is a nearly 13,000 square foot facility sitting on a total of nearly 11 acres. In addition to a new state-of-the-art full-service branch offering advanced technology which includes Video Teller Machines offering extended drive-up hours, the building now also houses LLCU Internal Operations personnel for Accounting, Operations, Information Technology, Collections, and Loan Processing.

“LLCU is now just a few short months away from our 80th Anniversary of serving Central Illinois,” stated Robert Ares, LLCU President and CEO. “We have grown from a single location in Decatur to now having 15 branches throughout 10 different cities. As we’ve grown, so has our staff. Before this building, most of our operational departments were scattered, which hampered our ability to serve members efficiently. Placing our operations together under one roof creates better efficiency, more synergy, more potential for hiring, all while beautifying an unsightly vacant property within the city."

La Macchia Group, a trusted design/build firm that exclusively serves banks and credit unions, served as the Architect and General Contractor. Numerous local contractors also participated in this project including but not limited to Christy Foltz, S.A. Lewis/Vieweg, Bendsen Signs, B&B Glass, Binder Plumbing, Dunn Company, Dynagraphics, Lourash & Mahannah Excavation, and TICA Inc Heating & Cooling.

LLCU invites members of the community to visit the new branch during regular business hours.
